Letters, speeches, talks, writings, book comments and notes, psychology correspondence course notebook, lecture notes (60 leaves) on his travels in 1870-1871 to Honduras, publications from his years at Davenport High School, Davenport, Ia., and the Academy, Carleton College, Northfield, Minn., and a manuscript of Fargo College history. The Stocker family series includes oral history transcript with his grandson Arthur F. Stocker done in 2008, and his daughter's "History of the Congregational Church" written for the Congregational Woman's Society of North Dakota (1938).

Carleton was founded on October 12, 1866, by the General Conference of the Congregational Churches of Minnesota, which—after considering locations in Zumbrota, Mantorville, Cottage Grove, and Lake City—chose Northfield for the home of its new college. Born at Athol, Mass., son of Joseph and Alice W. (Mann) Stratton. Wed Mary Tryphena Goddard 1874. Received a Ph. D. from Wesleyan University, principal and teacher at various schools, appointed professor of Greek at Fargo College in 1906. Served as dean from 1906-1911, and college librarian.
